Building the Perfect Royal Rumble

#22: Sheamus(2012)

Sheamus is the ideal choice for the #22 entrant because his 2012 Royal Rumble win had plenty of intriguing aspects to it. First off, he was fairly new to the main event scene and this win would be used to propel him and make him a legitimate star. Secondly, in the final two he found himself and Chris Jericho and the two battled for over five minutes. Lastly, everyone expected Jericho to pull off the win, but Sheamus swerved the majority and delivered a Brogue Kick to seal the win.

Honorable Mention: HHH(2002)

#23: The Hurricane(2002)

Comedy is an essential part of the Royal Rumble and that’s where The Hurricane comes in. The masked superhero found himself in the ring with Stone Cold and HHH after entering at #23. He then thought it was a good idea to attempt to double chokeslam both men and well, you know the rest.

Honorable Mentions: Lex Luger(1994), Hornswoggle(2011)

#24: The Rock(2000)

Before The Rock entered the 2000 Royal Rumble at #24, there wasn’t much going on and not many wrestlers seemed to have a legitimate shot at winning. That all changed once the most electrifying man in sports entertainment ran to the ring at #24 and led the way before eventually pulling down the ropes on The Big Show for the win.

#25: Hulk Hogan(1990)

In 1991, as the #24 entry, Hulk Hogan won the Royal Rumble match by eventually tossing out Earthquake. However, in the year prior the Hulkster entered at #25 and won his first Royal Rumble, outlasting the likes of Shawn Michaels, Rick Rude, The Ultimate Warrior and Mr. Perfect. It was a fascinating performance that saw Hogan not only win the bout, but he also entered the match as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
